BARNES, MICHAEL J.

Michael John Barnes, 59, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at his family home. Born in Baltimore, MD to Margaret and Francis J. Barnes, where he grew up and lived most of his life with his two brothers; Raymond and Timothy; two sisters Kathleen Hare and Margaret Cummings (predeceased).  Michael was a loving father to four daughters; Mary Mintz; Christina M. Barnes; Ashley N. Barnes; and Kala Barnes; wife Martha J. Barnes, and grandfather to Katelyn Mintz, Samantha Mintz, Michael Mintz, and Gionna Lynn Semler. He worked for the Maryland Transportation Authority for over 25 years before retiring recently. He enjoyed his hometown of Baltimore in every way; from the local businesses and pubs to his hometown sports of the Baltimore Colts, Ravens, and Orioles. In his spare time he enjoyed catching up on his favorite shows, listening to the Beatles, and spending time with his family and friends. His unique sense of humor was always loved by his friends and family and will always be remebered and cherished.

Friends are welcome to join the services held on Mon. September 22, 2014 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held during 7-9pm visitation, followed by small Irish wake at one of Mike's favorite local bar's: Muir's Tavern 36 E. Fort Ave. Balt., MD 21230. If you would like to send flowers to the family, please only send flower baskets due to private interment.
