Jimmie Hines, 70 of Baltimore, went peacefully home to be with the Lord, on October 9th, 2015, with his family by his bedside in Columbia Maryland.
He was born on January 21, 1945 in Charleston South Carolina to Lucille Bryant and John Hines.
He is survived by his wife Arlene Hines; Children: Angelina Hernandez, Tina Johnson, Karen Lucile Hines Sibrel, Carol Wilhelmi, Tammy Hines, Walter Butler, Chad Butler, Randy Butler, and Matthew Hines. He is the proud Grandfather of 30 and the Great Grandfather of 14.
Jim served in the United States Army from 1967-1994 a career that included a tour in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division where he earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and the Combat Infantry Badge. His other tours of duty included Korea, Thailand, and Cambodia. While in Korea he studied Taekwondo and was awarded a black belt. Jim was a distinguished mechanic who worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30+ years and was proud to be a “Ford Man”. He was a member of North Glenn Baptist Church and had a deep faith in God.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 4-6PM at BAILEY Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PA 4023 Annapolis Rd, Halethorpe, MD 21227. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 beginning promptly at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032. Graveside service will include military honors.
