Elizabeth Ann Wolbach Tippets, 79, of Columbia, MD passed away on May 15, 2024. Born on February 6, 1945 in Santa Maria, California, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Ralph Swain and Alice Pickett Wolbach. She lived in the Washington D.C. area since 1952 and attended Northwestern High School.
Elizabeth married David H. Tippets on August 13, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were blessed with five children: William (Darcia), Alisa (Peter Jackson), Benjamin (Kelly), Matthew (Becca) and Jonathan (Kirsten). Her family grew to include twenty grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Maryland in 1966 with a degree in Math Education. She taught High School Math for Prince George’s County Public Schools for 4 years. She later returned to the University of Maryland, earning both a M.S. and Ph.D. in Statistics and Measurement.
Elizabeth was a dedicated and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions of responsibility; however her favorite calling was leading and singing in choirs.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4100 Saint John’s Lane, Ellicott City, Maryland at 10 AM on June 29, 2024. Family members will greet guests beginning at 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, please take your loved ones to dinner.
