WARD, RICHARD D.

On Saturday, February 11, 2017, Richard Darrell Ward passed away in Aberdeen, MD. Richard is survived by his children,  Jennifer Lancaster (husband Christopher Lancaster, Sr.), Ron Lee Ward, and Amber Jackson (fiancee Keith Bruce);  8 grandchildren, Christopher Lancaster, Jr., Justin Lancaster, Kirsten Jackson, Jordan Ward, Madison Jackson, Jaydan Ward, Jeremy Ward, and Peyton Miller.  Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Ward. 

​Richard served in the US Army and he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Richard was honorably discharged and his service included a campaign in Vietnam.  Richard earned the following decorations: Vietnam Campaign, Army Accomendation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge. 

Richard was once a member of the English Consul Volunteer Fire Company where he earned the 1995 Co-Firefighter of the year, and well over 20 Lifesaving awards. Richard also served as a paramedic in a private ambulance company. 

Richard once cited his most proudest moments of his life was the birth of his children.   

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 6:00-8:00pm at BAILEY Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PA. Interment will be private.
